WVSC Season Success Summary – 2025
Another massive year in red and blue ❤️💙
From MiniRoos to Masters, SAP Academy to Capital League, 2025 was another strong season for Woden Valley Soccer Club on and off the field. Across the club, our players, coaches, managers, referees, volunteers, and families helped continue building one of Canberra’s most active and community-focused football clubs.
With over 1,600 registered players, growing girls and women’s programs, strong participation across junior and senior football, and continued development in our pathway programs, 2025 highlighted the strength of the WVSC community.
NPL Boys & Youth Pathways

Our NPL Boys and youth pathway programs continued to develop strongly throughout 2025, with players competing across the Capital Football premier competitions and representing the club with pride each weekend.
The club’s SAP Academy and NPL pathway programs continued to provide development opportunities for players aspiring to compete at the highest levels available in the ACT. The SAP Academy program expanded opportunities across both Open and Girls age groups, with players participating in Division 1 and SAP League competitions throughout the season.
Throughout the year, WVSC players continued to achieve representative honours across school football, futsal, and regional pathway programs, demonstrating the continued growth of the club’s development environment. (wvsc.org.au)
The end-of-season celebrations across the NPL Boys program reflected the strong culture and community built across teams, coaches, and families during the year.
Girls & Women’s Football Growth

2025 marked another positive year for girls and women’s football at WVSC. The best part, our Women’s State League – Division 4 WON!
The club continued investing in girls pathway opportunities through the Girls SAP Academy and Girls Youth Academy programs, creating stronger development pathways for female players across junior football.
Female football participation continued to grow across MiniRoos, junior leagues, and senior football, supported by initiatives such as Female Football Week activities and community programs aimed at increasing participation and confidence in the game.
WVSC also continued to strengthen connections between junior and senior female football, helping create a visible pathway for young players progressing through the club.
Senior Football & Masters

Across Capital League, community football, and Masters competitions, WVSC teams continued to perform strongly while reinforcing the club’s inclusive and community-driven culture.
Several senior and Masters teams progressed into finals football during the 2025 season, highlighting the depth and competitiveness across the club’s senior programs.
The club’s senior environment continued to provide opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to stay involved in football, from competitive divisions through to social and Masters football.
Community, Volunteers & Club Culture

As always, one of the club’s greatest strengths in 2025 was its volunteers.
From coaches and managers to canteen volunteers, referees, photographers, committee members, and sideline supporters, hundreds of people contributed their time to make football possible each week at Mawson Playing Fields.
The club also hosted major community events and tournaments throughout the year, continuing to position Mawson as one of the busiest grassroots football hubs in Canberra.
WVSC’s strong community identity continued to shine through across social media, club events, and match days, with thousands of players, families, and supporters visiting the club throughout the season.
Looking Ahead to 2026
With continued growth across junior participation, girls football, pathway programs, and senior competitions, WVSC enters 2026 in a strong position.
The club remains committed to creating positive football experiences for players of all ages and abilities while continuing to strengthen development pathways and community connections.
Thank you to every player, coach, manager, volunteer, sponsor, referee, and family member who contributed to the 2025 season.
We can’t wait to do it all again in 2026. ❤️💙
