Cost

The cost for all SAP Academy players in Season 2026 is $560. Uniform expenses are additional to that, and include a training top, tracksuit, backpack, shorts, and socks. These uniform items are mandatory, and will be able to be ordered from our suppliers prior to the pre-season commencing. However, please note if you are a returning player and already have some/all of these uniform items and they are in a fit condition for use in Season 2026, there is no requirement to purchase these items again.

Player fees include:

  • Capital Football and Football Australia fees (including insurance)
  • Ground hire for training and match days
  • Payments to match day officials
  • Coaching fees
  • Specialised training sessions
  • Field equipment
  • Entry into pre-season tournaments
  • Pre-season friendlies

In keeping with our principle of inclusiveness, players who genuinely cannot afford the full registration fee may be eligible for another arrangement in lieu of payment. This could include helping out our set-up crew, extra canteen duty, being a Game Leader or mentoring PeeWees.

Program Format

Training for SAP Academy teams is twice weekly and commences in February. Open teams will train on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and Girls teams will train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. It is expected that participants are available for all training, tournaments and events throughout the pre-season and winter season.

The focus of training for SAP Academy participants will be on the four core skills of football (first touch, striking the ball, running with the ball and 1v1). However, the SAP Academy will also look to supplement these core technical skills with sessions in other areas which will assist in the development of players. These sessions are yet to be determined by the Technical Director for Season 2026, but could include:

  • Speed and agility training
  • Specialised technical sessions (eg shooting, 1v1 defending)
  • Strength and Conditioning
  • Nutritional advice
  • Mental approaches

It is intended that the skills development and football intelligence gained while at the SAP Academy will give Academy participants a good grounding when trialling for roles in NPL squads in the future. Additionally, a number of SAP Academy participants in Season 2025 achieved selection in representative school football and futsal teams.
