Meet the WVSC Committee
Shiree Yap
WVSC Administrator
How did you come to be part of WVSC?
My involvement began in 2002 when my eldest son started playing for Woden Valley in U7s. My four children have all played with WVSC over the past 14 years. During this time I managed many teams with the highlight in 2010 travelling as team manager to Germany with my son’s WVSC U14 team. In 2013, my role moved to club administrator when our previous administrator moved interstate. I feel very proud to be a part of one the largest soccer clubs in the ACT and to work with such a dynamic committee, ensuring all our players have an incredible football experience.

Committee Member
How did you come to be part of the WVSC Committee?
My involvement began in 1994 when my eldest son started playing for Woden Valley. From there I progressed to being coach, committee member and Life member. My teams won many a title but winning the inaugural Kanga Cup for WVSC and following up the year after with another Kanga Cup tops the list. Reaching the quarter finals of the Gothia Cup in Sweden is another of my WVSC football highlights. With the committee’s support, I managed to bring out coaches from Partizan Belgrade for coaching clinics two consecutive years. My three sons all played for the club and I look forward to the day my grandchildren will also. Football is my passion and I have always been impressed with the way WVSC was run with such passion and dedication from others.
What are you aiming to achieve in your current role?
I aim to continue in my role in helping WVSC maintain its leadership and commitment to junior sport. I have travelled to Europe in recent times and have experienced some Football ideas which I believe would work well here. My aim would be to bring these ideas to reality and ensure that WVSC is the leading junior sporting club not only in Canberra but Australia.
