WVSC Advocating for NPL Girls Inclusion in 2027

Woden Valley Soccer Club is advocating for inclusion in the National Premier League Girls competition for the 2027 season.

Girls football continues to grow strongly across Canberra and within the Woden Valley Soccer Club (WVSC) community, with increasing participation across MiniRoos, junior, youth and senior programs. As part of the club’s long-term vision, WVSC is seeking to strengthen local development pathways for girls and young women in football.

The club has formally engaged with Capital Football regarding the proposal and is also supporting a community petition through the ACT Legislative Assembly process.

WVSC believes strong local pathways are important in helping players continue to develop, compete and remain connected to the game throughout their football journey.

An ACT Legislative Assembly petition is currently open for ACT residents wishing to support the initiative.

Over recent seasons, girls football at WVSC has continued to expand through the club’s SAP Academy, Girls Youth Academy and senior women’s programs. The club remains committed to providing positive, inclusive and development-focused opportunities for players at all stages of the game.

Woden Valley Soccer Club would like to thank players, families, coaches, volunteers and the broader football community for their continued support.
