What is Premier League?
Premier League is the highest competition offered in boys and girls youth (U13-18) football.
However, because the competition is highly contested, There are two types of Premier League. NPL and CPL.
National Premier League (NPL)
NPL is the highest competition offered in football in the ACT and surrounding regions.
NPL Girls
Competition requires clubs to field U14, U15, and U17 teams. – WVSC is working towards NPL Girls inclusion in the near future.
NPL Boys
Competition requires clubs to field U13, U14, U16, and U18 teams. – WVSC proudly competed in the NPL Boys since 2023.
NPL Women
Competition requires clubs to field First Grade and Reserve Grade teams. – WVSC is working towards future NPL Women’s inclusion.
NPL Men
Competition requires clubs to field First Grade and U23 teams. – WVSC aspires to gain NPL Men’s and U23 inclusion in coming years.
WVSC NPL Achievements
WVSC has a proud history of competing strongly at the highest levels of youth football in the ACT.
2021 – NPL2 Youth Boys
U13 – 3rd Place (one of the strongest age groups in the competition)
U14 – 5th Place (solid mid-table finish)
U16 – 6th Place (competitive across the season)
U18 – 3rd Place (a consistent finals contender)
These results reaffirm the quality of football at WVSC, demonstrating our ability to develop players who not only compete, but excel at the elite level.
Looking Ahead
WVSC continues to build on this success through our Pathways Program, preparing players for future NPL opportunities and ensuring the club remains a leader in both grassroots and elite football development.
Capital Premier League (CPL)
At the end of 2020, Capital Football introduced the CPL (NPL2 Youth). The CPL is the second division of boys youth football in the ACT and surrounding regions. Clubs within the CPL Boys are required to field U13, U14, U16 and U18’s teams.
CPL Boys are regarded as the highest competition offered in boys and girls youth football in the ACT and surrounding region.
CPL Boys are required to field U13, U14, U16 and U18’s teams.
Woden Valley Soccer Club currently fields teams for:
- 2023 NPL Boys U13, U14, U16, U18, as WVSC were promoted to from CPL to NPL in March 2023.

- CPL Club Championships – WVSC CPL Boys – 2nd overall
- 2022 CPL U13 Boys – 3rd
- 2022 CPL U14 Boys – 2nd
- 2022 CPL U16 Boys – 3rd
- 2022 CPL U18 Boys – 5th
As of 2025 CPL has been disbanded by Capital Football and is no longer running

How can I watch NPL games?
For 2025, Capital Football is pleased to share that games across NPL Men’s, NPL Women’s and NPL U23s will be streamed live on an BarTV streaming service. NPLB is still TBA.
How can I get into Premier League?
Ensure you are registered, and make sure you attend NPL Trials in October/November. Contact admin@wvsc.org.au for further details.
We are keen to continue our Premier League Youth success. Girls and Boys of age, from all Junior Leagues, are encouraged to trial and join our Premier League teams.
Should you wish to trial for NPL, Trials typically begin in October/November each year, as the Premier League season starts earlier than the non-premier league seasons.
